LICK of FURY!

When I got to RISD in the fall of 1995, I had the craaaaazy notion that I would be going into the Illustration Department. That didn’t last long. A few weeks into the school year I went to a show at the RISD Auditorium of recent student work from the Film Department. A film by Matty Sidle called “Lick of Fury” knocked my socks off.

I decided right there that I was going into the Film Department. They were clearly having much more fun than the illustrators.

My only VHS copy disappeared a few years back, I loaned it to a Pratt student and never saw it again. I’m very happy to see that the film is finally available online. Treat yourself right, watch a weird movie!

Does anyone know what happened to Matty Sidle, or if his earlier Junior film is available anywhere? I remember seeing it once in film class – a short black & white film with a smooth dancing mortician.
